Local Citizen: "As I remember, Mr. Par was an old hermit."
Heather: "Right."
Local Citizen: "And he lived up on the mountain. He lived up there. Been there for a long long time. In the fall or winter of 1940, some of the young kids started dissapearing. Nobody knew anything about why they were dissapearing. Finally, one day old Mr. Par come down into the market and said, "I'm finally finished."
Heather: "And what did he mean by that?"
Local Citizen: "Well, I guess nobody knew at first, but the police finally went up on the mountain, and they searched his house, and they found the bodies of seven kids from the area."
Heather: "Wow."
Local Citizen: "And those were the seven kids that were missing. And then they brought them out of the woods one at a time, and it just was a terrible thing. Just tore the whole community up."
