Click here if you would like information about advertising at moviewavs.com. Without their finantial support I would not have been able to keep this site up.

Advertising: Flycast.com

Flycast was bought out by engage media and shortly after mine and many other sites were kicked out for bogus reasons (after three years of membership). I was asked by the original owners to join Flycast. When I asked why I was removed they just gave me the runaround. I later found out that they let about half of there staff go as well. It's just another example of big business not giving a damn about the people who got them where they are. Needless to say I was a bit upset about this. I guess I'm done ranting now.

My Own Server

I have hosted all my sites since 11/15/2003 on my own server. I've been adding as many new sounds as I can and The MovieWavs Page has tripled it's pouplarity in just over a year. Oh happy times.

Animus Communications

Animus Communications was the host of The MovieWavs Page from 3/22/97 to 2/20/98 and 1/21/99 to 11/14/2003.

The reason I left them the first time was because I was not making any money from this site and could not afford the prices. What I learned was that The cheap services that offer Unlimited everything are B.S. So, I finally started making a little money form advertising and was able to go back to the reliability of Animus.net. And then, the Dot-com bust hit and MovieWavs was once again losing money. I saw many of my fellow sound sites going under. It was a bad time for moviewavs.com. Because of working a 40 hour a week job I was unable to put the time into adding new sounds. I was also capped by a 800MB hosting package. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Internet advertising had a comeback and I was able to start adding sounds again when I moved to my own server. Oh, the drama.

Communitech

Communitech was host of The MovieWavs Page from 7/20/98 to 1/20/99
They weren't very reliable. They would shut down the account I opened with no reason given to me and continued charging me. I would try to contact them and get no reply.
In fact they didn't reply to me when I tried to discontinue service with them.
I ended up having to cancel my credit card. And then the replied; They only cared if they got their money.
Needless to say I was displeased with their service. Oops! I guess I'm ranting again.

SimpleNet

SimpleNet was the host of The MovieWavs Page from 2/20/98 to 7/20/98.

I was happy with them for a while until they wanted to charge me more per month (10 times as much). They sent me an email saying that my site was in the Top 5 percent of Resource users, so they wanted $200 more per month. For that Price I could get better service with animus.net. And eventually I did.

I was never displeased with the service of Animus. I was just loosing money because I didn't have any income from advertising. I paid for it by working another job.

Cris.com

Before Moviewavs.com, http://www.cris.com/~westg was one of the first addresses of The MovieWavs Page. In fact, that was the address when the site was first featured in a Magazine article. I also had over 25 Geocities accounts to host the movies. Once again, it became too popular and too difficult to maintain 20 plus accounts and I was forced to make a change. So I move into the new home of MovieWavs.com.

Hawaii.edu

http://www2.hawaii.edu/~westg was, I believe, the first addresses of The MovieWavs Page. It became too popular and I had to find a better host.

The Fans

I could not have created this site without all the support and help I have received from all the fans of The MovieWavs Page.  I would like to sincerely thank those of you who emailed me with glitches and idiotic spelling mistakes I have made. I always appreciate any help keeping the site functioning.

About Moviewavs.com

My name is Gary West and I created and maintain The MovieWavs Page. I've been making sound clips from movies since 1995 when the site didn't have it's own Domain name. Then in 1997 I purchased Moviewavs.com. Now The MovieWavs Page contains Thousands of sound clips from Movies, TV Shows and Cartoons. All the great things you'll find here, excluding the external links and some donated sounds, are due a lot of fun work. Well, that's enough of the self-congratulations. If not for the support by you the fans I would not have the energy to complete it. Thank you all. I hope you enjoy it.
